Baker Skateboards was formed by The Boss, Andrew Reynolds in 1999. Having left Birdhouse Skateboards he wanted to create his own home to better suit his style of skateboarding and lifestyle. The brand came around the time of Piss Drunx – a Huntington Beach skate crew – with Ali Boulala, Jim Greco, Erik Ellington and Dustin Dollin. They skated all day and raged all night, usually with a video camera close by. The Baker Bootleg video was released in 1998 and was the perfect intro to Baker Skateboards brand. Baker 2G was the defining video for the brand and the Baker boys ruled skateboarding just the way they wanted it. Hi-jinx all the way.

Over the years the non-stop partying has made way to TCOB (taking care of business). Baker Boys Distribution was formed in 2007 and new brands were created and distributed, such as Deathwish, Shake Junt, Happy Hour Shades and Volume 4. The new LA skateboard company Illegal Civilization is also part of Baker Boys.

In June 2018, Baker welcomed back Elissa Steamer to the team, giving her professional status. Then in January 2019, Kader Sylla was made pro. He joins Andrew Reynolds, Dustin Dollin, Terry Kennedy, Bryan Herman, Justin Figueroa, Theotis Beasley, Don Nguyen, Riley Hawk, Sammy Baca, Cyril Jackson, Dee Ostrander, Rowan Zorilla and Kevin Spanky Long as professional Baker skateboarders. Tristan Funkhouser, Donta Hill and Zach Allen hold up the amateur riders.
